Cpl Archibald Clarence BAYLEY, 16th Battalion Canadian Infantry, is buried in Plot II, Row F, Grave 37.

He was killed in action on 9th October 1916 in the Courcelette area of France.   He was 29 years old.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and on the All Saints Church War Memorial.

His parents, George Henry Bayley and Alice F Bayley, resided at “Selkirk House”, Prestbury Road, Cheltenham.

His Memorial Plaque and other personal papers can be viewed at the Cheltenham Museum.

Cpl Albert Victor Thomas MARGETTS, 16th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, is buried in Plot III, Row E, Grave 17.

He was killed in action on 23rd August 1918 during the Battle of Albert in the Miraumont area of Belgium.   He was 25.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and on the St James’s School Roll of Honour.

His parents, Thomas and Ellen Margetts, resided at 3 Naunton Parade, Cheltenham.  

His brother Harold served in the Worcestershire Regiment and survived the war.

Pte Alan MOORE, 13th Battalion Canadian Infantry, is buried in Plot VI, Row C, Grave 11.

He was killed in action on 8th October 1916 during the Battle of Le Transloy in the Courcelette area of France.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial.

His parents, Major General and Mrs Charles Alfred Moore, resided at “Glenarbuck”, Park Place, Cheltenham.

Lieutenant Fleming NEWTON, 201 Squadron Royal Air Force, is buried in Plot VII, Row J, Grave 21.

He was killed in aerial action in the Miraumont area of France on 9th May 1918, aged 19.

He is commemorated on the St Philip’s Church War Memorial.

His parents, Dr Isaac Newton and Mrs Alice Reeves Newton, resided at “Broadlands”, The Park, Cheltenham.

The inscription on his headstone reads “They Are And They Are With God”.
