Cpl Cecil Hugh POPE, Household Battalion, is also commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and on a plaque in St John’s Church.

Pte Jesse Jones, 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial (but see Note 1).

Notes:

1.   This may refer to Pte Jesse Jones, 1st Battalion Wiltshire Regiment who died of wounds in France on 20th December 1915.   He was born in Tetbury and enlisted in Swindon giving a home address in Cheltenham.
