“Cheltonians” buried in the Cemetery

LCpl Henry Richard DODWELL, 8th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, is buried in Plot XI, Row A, Grave 16.

He was wounded in action on 12th September 1918 in the Givenchy area of France and died in a casualty clearing station in the Lapugnoy area.   He was 31.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and the Bethesda Church Roll of Honour.

He left a widow, Mrs Eliza Ann Dodwell who resided at 33 Upper Park Street, Cheltenham.

His parents resided at 18 Ewlyn Terrace, Fairfield Street, Cheltenham.

Pte William James MOTT, 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, is buried in Plot I, Row C, Grave 11.

He was wounded in action on 25th September 1915 in the Loos area of France on the first Day of the Battle of Loos and died in a casualty clearing station in the Lapugnoy area on 9th October 1915.   He was 30 years of age.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial.

He left a widow, Mrs Florence Mott and two children who resided at 118 Tennyson Road, Cheltenham and later at 5 Knapp Place, New Street, Cheltenham.
