Private Charles WELLER, 1st Battalion Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, is buried in Row D, Grave 3.

 

He was killed in action on 23rd October 1918 in fighting around the River Selle.

 

He is commemorated on the St Paul’s Church War Memorial.

 

He was born in Cobham, Surrey, and enlisted into the DCLI in December 1915 whilst residing in Cheltenham.

 

The inscription at the base of his headstone reads “Peace, Perfect Peace”.
