| Pte Valentine Frank CHERRINGTON, 70th Auxiliary Petroleum Company, Army Service Corps, is buried in Plot I, Row F, Grave 10. He was killed in action in the Ypres area of Belgium on 18th September 1917. He was 26 years old.
He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial, the Leckhampton War Memorial and on the Leckhampton (St Peter’s Church) Roll of Honour. He was born in Gloucester and worked on the Lilleybrook Estate, Cheltenham, prior to enlistment into the Army. He was most probably residing in the Leckhampton area prior to the war. |

LCpl Philip Edward CRIBB, 2/4th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, is buried in Plot I, Row C, Grave 13. He was wounded in action on 27th August 1917 during the Battle of Langemarck and died of wounds in a medical unit in the Brandhoek area on the 28th. He was 24 years of age
He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and on the St Philips Church Roll of Honour. His parents, William and Matilda Cribb, resided at 62 Upper Norwood Street, Cheltenham. The commemoration on his stone reads, “Father in thy gracious keeping, leave we now our loved one sleeping”. |
| Sapper James JOYNES, 262nd Railway Construction Company, Royal Engineers is buried in Plot II, Row N, Grave 12. He died of wounds on 14th November 1917 sustained during the Battle of Passchendaele. He was 42 years old.
He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and on the St Mark’s Church Roll of Honour. He left a widow, Edith Selina Joynes, who was residing at 4 Burlton Cottages, Hatherley Road, Cheltenham. The commemoration on his stone reads:, “Until the day dawns and the shadows flee away”

Cpl Frederick William RODDIS, 1/5th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, is buried in Plot II, Row H, Grave 4.
He died of wounds on 18th August 1917 during the Battle of Langemarck. He was 25 years old. He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial. His parents, Frederick and Alice Roddis, resided in Bush Hill Park, Enfield. The commemoration on his stone simply says “Noble Sacrifice”.
