Notes: 1. The 2/5th Battalion was formed in August 1914 initially from medically unfit personnel of the 5th Battalion and those who had not signed the Overseas Service Obligation. 2. A detailed history of the 2/5th Battalion history in the Great War was published by A F Barnes, MC, in 1930. 3. BADCOCK was temporarily attached to 9th Bn East Surrey Regt at the time of his death. 4. HAWKINS was discharged from the Army on 7th August 1916 due to sickness. 5.
