The CWGC state that it is no longer possible to mark any of the graves individually in this cemetery so the names of the dead now appear on screen walls and other special memorials in two commemorative plots.

Pte George Stanley COOPER, 26th Battalion Royal Fusiliers, died of illness in Aldershot on 29th January 1916.   He is buried in Plot PAA.78.

 

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial.

 

His only connection with Cheltenham is that he was employed as a clerk in the National Provincial Bank in the Montpellier area of the town.

 

His parents, Mr and Mrs George Cooper, resided at 1 Tottenham Place, Bristol.
