“Cheltonians” buried in this Cemetery

Pte Harry PATRICK, 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, is buried in Plot C, Row E, Grave 1649.

He was wounded during the Battle of the Aisne in the autumn of 1914 and was evacuated to the Netley Military Hospital, near Southampton.   He died there on 2nd December 1914, aged 18 years.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and on the St Peter’s Church War Memorial.

His parents, John and Sarah Patrick, resided at The Barnyard, Grove Street, Cheltenham and later at 12 Sun Street, Cheltenham.
