“Cheltonians” commemorated on this War Memorial

Pte Walter FRUIN, 10th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, died of wounds in France on 30th April 1916 and is buried in Abbeville Communal Cemetery.

He is not a native Cheltonian and is not commemorated on any memorial in the Cheltenham area though he is listed on a Roll of Honour titled “Cheltonians who have made the supreme sacrifice” published in the Gloucestershire Echo on 7th August 1916.
