Pte James Arthur GOODHALL, 3rd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment, is buried in Plot L, Row D, Grave N17.

He was wounded in action between 6th and 8th July 1916 during actions at the Leipzig Salient during the Battle of the Somme.  He was evacuated to a hospital in the Hastings area and died of his wounds there on 30th August 1916, aged 33.

His parents, William and Helen Goodhall resided at 59 Stanhope Street, Cheltenham and his brother, Frank, was killed in action in France on 20th July 1918.

James Goodhall is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and the St Peter’s Church War Memorial.
