“Cheltonians” buried in this Cemetery
Private George Edwin Arthur BRAZENER, 168th Company, Labour Corps, previously of 3rd Labour Company Devonshire Regiment, is buried in Plot XIV, Row G, Grave 7.

He died of illness on 28th February 1919, aged 31, at the 41st Stationary Hospital RAMC based at Amiens.

He is commemorated on theCheltenham War Memorial, the Charlton Kings War Memorial and on the Charlton Kings (St Mary’s Church) War Memorial.

His parents, William and Susan Brazener, resided at Oxford Cottage, Upper Park Street, Hales Road, Cheltenham.

He left a widow, Mrs Agnes May Brazener, who resided at 2 Essex Road, Bourton-on-the-Water, Glos.  

A photo of Pte Long’s headstone will be posted here in due course Private William Ernest LONG, 2/5th Battalion London Regiment, is buried in Plot XIII, Row B, Grave 7.

He was wounded in action near Villers-Bretonneux on 24th April 1918 and died of these wounds on 25th April 1918, aged 38, in a casualty clearing station in Amiens.

He is commemorated on theCheltenham War Memorial.

His parents, John Halford and Margaret Long, resided at 1 Wolseley Terrace, Cheltenham.

He left a widow, Mrs Florence Grace Long, who resided at 35 Gowlett Road, Peckham, London.

Captain William Smith MINCHIN, MC, 11th Battalion Royal Fusiliers, is buried in Plot XII, Row D, Grave 2.

He was killed in action in the Villers-Bretonneux and Amiens area on 20th April1918, aged 46.

Capt Minchin is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and on the All Saints Church War Memorial.

He left a widow, Mrs Gertrude Annie Minchin, who resided at 64 Fairview Road, Cheltenham.

 

Private Harold Edgar RALPH, 171st Company, Labour Corps, formerly of 6th Labour Company Devonshire Regiment, is buried in Plot XVI, Row D, Grave 7.

He was killed in action on 15th April 1918, aged 25 in the Amiens area.

He is commemorated on theCheltenham War Memorial and on the Christ Church Roll of Honour.

His parents, Mr and Mrs Charles Ralph, resided at 2 Victoria Parade, Gloucester Road, Cheltenham.   His widow, Mrs Ellen Ralph, also resided at this address.
