Inscriptions on this War Memorial:   This stone was erected by the parishioners of Norton tothe glorious memory of the men of this parish who gave their lives for theircountry in the Great War 1914 – 1918.   They died that we mightlive.   Grant them O Lord eternal rest.

Pte James Edward GROVES, 10th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment, was born in Shurdington, near Cheltenham, but is not commemorated on any local memorial.
