Major John Gwynne GRIFFITH, 32nd Lancers, Indian Army, attached to 6th Cavalry Brigade, Indian Army, is buried in Row G, Grave 8.
He was killed in action on 24th May 1915 during the Battle of Bellewaarde, Belgium. He was 40 years of age. He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial. His wife, Florence Ethel Griffith, resided at 29 Park Place, Cheltenham. Major Griffith is commemorated on the his parents grave in Leckhampton (St Paul’s) Churchyard and his original battlefield grave marker is located near to the entrance of Cheltenham Cemetery. |
