Commemorations in the Cathedral:   1

 

 

The commemorative plaque to those who lost their lives during the Battle of Coronel on 1st November 1914.

 

Cheltonians who lost their lives were:   Capt Frank Brandt (HMS Monmouth), Pte Francis Cresswell RMLI (HMS Monmouth), AB Horace Gilbert, AB Thomas Hooper (HMS Good Hope), PO Reginald Pigott (HMS Monmouth), AB Frederick Surman (HMS Monmouth), Stoker Edward Turner (HMS Good Hope), Stoker Harry Turner (HMS Good Hope).
