Pte John Robert Brunsdon PAGE, Labour Corps, is commemorated on the family plot.

  

He was killed in action in the Somme area of France on 3rd April 1918.   He has no known grave and is listed on the Pozieres Memorial To The Missing, France.

 

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial, the St Paul’s Church War Memorial and the St Peter’s Church War Memorial.

 

His parents, John and Mary Page, resided at Regent House, Swindon Road, Cheltenham.

 

Captain Alan John MacDonald PEMBERTON, MC, The Leinster Regiment attached to the Royal Flying Corps is commemorated on the family plot.

  

He died in France on 3rd November 1916 and is buried in the Mory Abbey Military Cemetery, France.

 

Captain Pemberton is not commemorated on any memorial in Cheltenham or the local area.

 

He was the son of  Mrs. Adele M. Pemberton, of 43, Elsham Rd., West Kensington, London and the late Major General W.W. Pemberton, I.S.C.

Pte Ernest Hayward PRATT, 18th Battalion Australian Imperial Force, is commemorated on the family grave. 

 

He was killed in action in France on 3rd May 1917 and is buried in the Bailleul Road East Cemetery, France.

 

He was born in Birmingham in 1889 and emigrated to Australia.   His connection with Cheltenham is unknown.

 

Also commemorated is Cpl Ormonde PRATT, Royal Buckinghamshire Hussars, who was killed in action in Gallipoli on 21st August 1915.   He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Helles memorial To The Missing, Turkey.  

 

Their sister resided at 6, St Andrew’s Square, Surbiton.

 

Pte Francis William PURNELL, 2/4th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, is commemorated on a family grave.

  

He was killed in action in the Steenbeeck are of Belgium on 27th August 1917 and is buried in the Tyne Cot Cemetery.

 

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and the St John’s Church War Memorial.

 

His parents, William and Elizabeth Purnell, resided at Donnerville, Kings Road, Cheltenham.

2Lt Charles William Ernest RAWLINGS, 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, is commemorated on a family grave.

  

He died of wounds in the Ypres area of Belgium on 28th September 1917 and is buried in the Mendinghem British Cemetery.

 

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial, the St Paul’s Church War Memorial and the Salem Baptist Church Roll of Honour.

 

His parents, William and Mart Anne Rawlings, resided at “Gloverdale”, Marle Hill Road, Cheltenham.

 

Pte Edward Lancelot RAWLINGS, 1/7th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, is commemorated on the family plot. 

 

He was killed in action on 18th August 1918 in the Somme area of France and is buried in the Bertrancourt Military Cemetery.

 

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and the Cheltenham Parish Boys School Roll of Honour.

 

His parents, James and Harriet Rawlings, resided at 12 Station Street, Cheltenham.

 

Sgt George Ernest ROBINSON, 10th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, is commemorated on the family grave. 

 

He was killed in action on the first day of the Battle of Loos on 25th September 1915.  

 

He has no known grave and is listed on the Loos Memorial To The Missing.

 

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial, the Prestbury War Memorial and the Prestbury (St Mary’s Church) War Memorial.

 

He resided at 7 Upper Bath Street, Cheltenham.

 

 

 

2Lt Sydney Gilbert ROGERS, 1st Battalion Devonshire Regiment, is commemorated on his mother’s grave.

  

He was killed in action in the Polderhoek area of Belgium on 4th October 1917.  

 

He has no known grave and is listed on the Tyne Cot Memorial To The Missing.

 

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and the Christ Church Roll of Honour.

 

His parents, Ernest and Mabel Rogers, resided at Glendronach, Christchurch Road, Cheltenham.

 

2Lt Arthur Robert ROWE, DCM, 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters, is commemorated on the family plot. 

 

He was killed in action in the Ypres area of Belgium on 7th February 1917 and is buried in the Vlamertinghe Military Cemetery.

 

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and the St Paul’s Church War Memorial.

 

His parents, Arthur and Ellen Rowe, resided at Euroclydon, Folly Lane, Cheltenham.

 

 

Pte Reginald Francis RUCK, Army Service Corps, is commemorated on the grave of a relative.  

 

He was killed in action at sea off Gibraltar.

  

He has no known grave but the sea and is listed on the Gibraltar Memorial.

 

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and the St John’s Church War Memorial.

 

His parents, Frederick and Ellen Ruck, resided at Orwell Villa, St Anne’s Road, Cheltenham.
