Notes: 1. Gardner is commemorated on the grave of his parents in Charlton Kings Cemetery and also on a commemorative plaque in the Dean Close School Chapel. 2. MacGregor was also known as Murray-MacGregor. 3. Scammell is most probably Scamell. 4. Lt I D Claughton, 11th Bn Suffolk Regt, a master at the school, was killed in action in France on 2nd March 1916, but not commemorated on the Roll of Honour. 5. Cpl Harry Clement Seates RAMC, a gardener at the school, was accidentally killed in East Africa on 29 January 1919. He is commemorated on the Chedworth (St Andrew’s Church) Roll of Honour. 6. Commemorations at Dean Close School can be seen here. 7. A Plaque to commemorate the School is located at St George’s Chapel, Ypres. 8. All are commemorated in the Roll of Honour pages. |
