Cheltonians buried in this Cemetery

Pte Conway Spencer MARMENT, 56th Battalion Australian Imperial Force, died of wounds in the 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, on 15th January 1917.   He was wounded in action on 31st October 1916 during the Battle of The Somme.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and the Cheltenham Grammar School Roll of Honour.

His parents, Mr and Mrs James Marment, resided at 27 Bennington Street, Cheltenham and later at 6 Glenfall Terrace, Cheltenham prior to their emigration to Murwillumbah, NSW, Australia.

At the foot of his headstone is the Remembrance Cross placed there on 9th March 2003.
