2Lt Frank Aldridge Fawcett, 1/5th Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment, is commemorated on a brass plaque.

  

He was killed in action on 1st July 1916 on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.   He has no known grave and is listed on the Thiepval Memorial To The Missing.

   

He is commemorated on the Charlton Kings Village Memorial and on the Charlton Kings (St Mary’s Church) Roll of Honour Tablet.

   

His father, Mr Frederick Fawcett, a benefactor of the Cheltenham General Hospital, resided at “The Orchards” Ryeworth Road, Charlton Kings.
