CARTER, Valentine Arthur Baylis. Pte, 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards. Killed in action at the Hohenzollern Redoubt, near Loos, France on 12th October 1915, aged 29. Commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial.
CHESTER-MASTER, Richard Chester. Lt Col, DSO*, MiD**. CO 13th Battalion King’s Royal Rifle Corps. Killed in action at Locre, west of Kemmel, Belgium on 30th August 1917, aged 47. Commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and on theSS Philip and James Church Roll of Honour.
DRAKE, William Henry. Pte, 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment. Killed in action near Zillebeke, Belgium, on 7th November 1914, aged 31. Commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial, the Charlton Kings War Memorial and on the Charlton Kings (St Mary’s Church) Roll of Honour Tablet. |
