Commemorations in the Church

The Reverend William Henry HEADING is commemorated on an alabaster remembrance plaque in the Church.

He was conscripted into the Army as a Chaplain 4th Class, with the commissioned rank of Captain, on 10th November 1918.   He died of illness on 21st November 1918,and is buried in the Chatteris Cemetery, Cambs.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and on the Chatteris War Memorial.

He resided at “Courland”, Brookway Road, Charlton Kings.

The plaque was unveiled on 10th December 1921.
