A photo of Pte Chiverton’s headstone will be posted here in due course. Pte Robert Browell CHIVERTON, Royal Army Medical Corps, is buried in Plot 102B General.

He died of illness in Enfield on 24th February 1917 aged 24.

Pte Chiverton is commemorated on the Wesleyan Church Roll of Honour.

His father, Mr Frank Chiverton, was a caretaker at the Cheltenham Building Society, Clarence Street, Cheltenham before the war and Robert worked briefly as a clerk in the Birmingham Labour Exchange before he enlisted into the RAMC in 1914.

A case submitted to the CWGC in March 2006 for Pte Chiverton to be accepted as an official war casualty was confirmed by the Ministry of Defence/CWGC in February 2007.
