Pte Reginald William COLE, 1/5th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, is buried in Plot III, Row D, Grave 13.

He was killed in action whilst on sentry duty on the morning of 12th May 1915.   He was 22 years of age.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial and on the Salem Baptist Church Roll of Honour.   He is also commemorated on the family Plot in Cheltenham Cemetery.

His parents, Abraham and Minnie Cole, resided at 12 Clarence Square, Cheltenham and were owners of “The Famous2, Gentlemen’s Outfitters, 350-351 High Street, Cheltenham.

The inscription on his gravestone reads:  “Blessed are the pure at heart for they shall see God. Matthew 5-8”

Private Archibald HAWKINS, 1/5th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, is buried in Plot III, Row C, Grave 7.

He was killed in action in the Ploegsteert area on 6th June 1915, aged 19.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial, the Cambray Baptist Church Roll of Honour, the Holy Apostles Church Roll of Honour, the Grammar School Roll of Honour, the Charlton Kings War Memorial, the Charlton Kings (St Mary’s Church) War Memorial and on the Oddfellows Roll of Honour.

His parents, George and Florence Hawkins, resided at Ashley House, Battledown, Cheltenham.   His brother, Reginald, was killed in action in France on 29th July 1918 whilst serving with the RAF.   He was 19 years of age.   The brothers are commemorated on the grave of their parents in Cheltenham Cemetery.

The inscription on his gravestone reads: “Liveth in our memory for ever”

Sgt William Henry MORGAN, 1/5th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, is buried in Plot III, Row D, Grave 7.

He was killed in action in the Ploegsteert area on 13th May 1915, aged 36.

He is commemorated on the Cheltenham War Memorial, the St Paul’s Church War Memorial and on the Oddfellows Roll of Honour.

He was married to the late Emily Morgan and his parents, John and Mary Morgan, resided at 1 Brunswick Place, St Paul’s Road, Cheltenham.
